Why are people always so insistent on knowing the time? It is so annoying when you are sitting there trying to do something and someone comes up and asks you what time it is and they could just easily look on the clock. Of course you have to be nice and give them an answer or they'll be "mad at you," but after you answer you tend to forget what it was that you were doing. Then you have the whole chain reaction of trying to remember but can't so you start to do something else and remember what it was you were doing at the start so you go back to that and leave the other thing undone. It would just be so much easier if people would all just carry clocks with them instead of asking you for the time.

Why is it that parents can never keep their own kids names straight? I must get called anything but my own name at least ten times a day, and it is annoying. The only logical reason that I can thing of is stress. People are way to pressured these days to do the best that they can as fast as they can. It drives them so crazy that they can't even come home from work and tell one kid from another. It's really sad but it's what this world is coming to. I bet before too long a lot of kids will have to wear name tags at home. Once the stress levels come down then kids can be free to go on with life without having to worry about forgetting their names.

This past weekend I went camping with some of my family in Heber. As we were cleaning, my little brother started laughing in an extremely obnoxious way. While I felt like strangling the kid my other cousins thought it was the cutest thing in the world. That made me start thinking, why do the things that annoy some people bring joy to the lives of others? I came up with two reasons.

The first is the fact that the other person isn't around it as often as you are so it just seems like a really cute and adorable thing. While it is causing you great grief and pain it is giving the other person their time of day. That just really seems unfair! It also just goes to show that the other person doesn't have to listen to the noise all day.

The second and last reason that I came up with is the person who thinks it's cute doesn't know the kid as well as you do. They just think it's a cute little game that the kid likes to play for fun; while you know that they're just trying to get attention. So the best thing you can do is just ignore it as best you can, and let the other person get to know the kid.

Day after day, week after week, we are surrounded by adults telling us what we can and can't do. And the pathetic thing is we listen to them every time they tell us something. Why in the world do we do that? What makes us so drawn to listen to them? Obviously we have the option not to listen to them, but there is something that makes us listen. The answer is obvious, but at the same time not really. The obvious answer is they have power over us and can punish us in any way they please. The thing that's so interesting is we could get up and leave our homes pretty much anytime we want to. Why is it that we stay? The answer to this question is unknown and very interesting. Until it is figured out, we will continue to be bossed around by adults.
